Kimee Cleaton is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, composer and conductor living in Shropshire with her husband and three children. Her instruments include voice and piano to professional level; harp, flute, guitar, bass guitar, recorders/whistles and drum kit/percussion to an intermediate level, and then pretty much anything else she can get her hands on!

She is currently Musical Director for three choirs: Craven Arms Men’s Chorus, Little Hereford Voices and Shrewsbury Theatre Singers, the latter of which she accompanies on piano/keyboard. Enquiries regarding temporary Musical Director or accompanist roles, or from pupils looking for a new vocal or piano teacher, are always welcome.

Kimee is the vocal coach at the Church Stretton-based Long Mynd Music Academy, run by Alison & Ryan Dodd. Also in Church Stretton, she is an organist at St. Laurence’s Church, assists with the church choir on occasion, and leads the music band in contemporary sung worship in family services as well as evening worship events.

As a composer, Kimee predominantly writes and arranges music for choirs and solo voice. Her largest work is a 90-minute musical, From Darkness to Light, first written as a 40-minute show and premiered in 2019, and then revised and extended in 2024 to be performed in December by the Shrewsbury Theatre Singers.

She has written and arranged many other pieces, a list of which will soon be available on this site. In addition, she has two pieces published in the Trinity College London Flute and Clarinet Pieces books for the 2017-2020 syllabus.

Kimee sings on a regular basis with Sine Nomine, under the direction of Andy Cope, in some of the most spectacular cathedrals around the country, her favourites so far being York Minster and Wells Cathedral. On occasion, she also sings and plays in various other ensembles and concerts, including as a soloist, ensemble member and accompanist; in particular the Cadence Singers, based in Broseley, which she also directs on occasion.
