ST. LAURENCE'S CHURCH CHOIR
Church Stretton
St. Laurence's Church choir was rebooted in 2021 after membership declined to almost nothing during the pandemic. Ru Trew and Kimee Cleaton relaunched the choir as a weekly singing group, rather than it just meeting to rehearse for specific services, as it had done in the past.

Today, the choir rehearses on Friday evenings at 5pm, and as well as the anthems and hymns you might expect, they learn other less-common pieces to further challenge and grow the strength of the singing. As of December 2022, there were fifteen regular members, and the choir was in the middle of a busy season, singing at five special services of various kinds throughout the parish.

The choir no longer robes for services, but rather usually dresses smartly in black with a feature colour (in the form of a tie, scarf, jacket, etc.) that suits the service at the time.

For information on how to join, please visit the contact page and send us a message, or come along to St. Laurence's Church one Friday at 5pm. (Note that occasionally the choir has a night off, e.g. near church festivals etc. so it is a good idea to check that the rehearsal is going ahead before coming.)
